Let's meet!

Hello! My name is Maurits van Vijfeijken, I’m 22 years old, and in my final year at the Hotel Management School Maastricht. From February to July, I’ll be part of the RevControl team, primarily focusing on the sales department.

How did I come across RevControl?

Two years ago, I interned at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., a historic hotel within walking distance of the White House. During my role as a Rooms Controller, I discovered my passion for hotel technology and realized how much I enjoy bridging the gap between hospitality and tech. While searching for an internship at a hotel tech company, a professor introduced me to RevControl. Coincidentally, the office is near my old high school in Eindhoven, though I had no idea it was so close!

What will be the focus of my internship?

I’ll be focusing on RevControl’s expansion into the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). This involves analyzing and refining internal processes to better align with the DACH market. Additionally, I’ll research cultural differences in the hotel industry, as well as variations in marketing, sales, and customer success, to help ensure a successful expansion.

What are my expectations for the coming months?

I’m excited to be part of the RevControl team! In just my first week, I’ve already learned a lot about revenue management and the various systems in use. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be attending sales demos and onboarding sessions, gaining deeper insights into revenue management, sales, and the DACH market. I hope to be a valuable addition to the team during my five-month internship.

A few fun facts about me

I like to keep busy. Besides my internship, I work as a grocery delivery driver. I’m also getting back into climbing, a hobby I’ve enjoyed for years but put on hold during my studies. Luckily, I have no fear of heights! I’m looking forward to this exciting journey with RevControl!
