RevControl University

RevControl is not only a comprehensive revenue management software provider; we are also dedicated to sharing knowledge about revenue management. We do this, for example, through customer success calls and masterclasses.

During these calls, clients can ask questions about pricing strategies and how to use the system. However, our mission extends beyond supporting our clients—we also aim to educate students. This month, we visited three hotel schools to provide students with insights into revenue management, distribution channels, and dynamic pricing.

First up was Breda University of Applied Sciences. This university offers a minor called 'The Business of Hotels', specifically designed for students seeking deeper knowledge beyond the regular hotel management bachelor's program. Fun fact: both Suze (Sales & Marketing) and Robin (Sales) completed this minor and later did their graduation assignments at RevControl. The masterclass we held at Breda spanned two days. On the first day, we provided the students with general revenue management knowledge, after which they worked within their own RevControl environment. Acting as junior revenue managers, they developed their own pricing strategies. On the second day, they presented their results, and we offered feedback. It was a valuable session for both the students and our team!

Next, we visited AP Antwerpen for a similar course. The students were enthusiastic about working with revenue management and approached the assignment with great seriousness. Despite the large group, it was impressive to see each group develop their own unique pricing strategy. Based on their thoughtful justifications, we can confidently say we encountered some future revenue managers!

Lastly, we visited Hotelschool Saxion University of Applied Sciences for the first time! We presented a masterclass on revenue management to a classroom of 80 students. During the session, we demonstrated our system and let the students decide whether certain revenue management strategies were effective. For most students, this was their first experience with a revenue management software system, and we were honored to introduce them to this new perspective.
